Las Terrenas
Far from mass tourism hot spots such as Punta Cana or Cancun
Situated about 1.5 miles from the fishermen village of Las Terrenas, the penthouse gives you access to a wide array of leisure activities and an authentic Caribbean way of life.
Far from mass tourism hot spots such as Punta Cana or Cancun, Las Terrenas is a village (11,000 residents) on the Samana Peninsula in the Dominican Republic nestled between Los Haitises mountain range and the Atlantic Ocean…
It is a small fishing village with an international flare. Along with the Dominicans, thousands of French, Italian, German, Canadian and American residents call Las Terrenas home. More often than not, they come on vacation and stay for life. It creates a friendly atmosphere where friendly locals, expatriates and tourists mingle in everyday life. This melting pot of local and foreign influences is maybe best exemplified by the quality and creativity of Las Terrenas restaurants, fusing French haute cuisine, traditional local recipes and fresh sea food. Make sure you enjoy some of the very good restaurants in the Fisherman’s village (‘Pueblo de Los Pescadores’) about 1 mile away, on the sea front, some with French chefs.
Not only will Las Terrenas offer you a comprehensive range of water sport activities, it also stands out as one of the last spots of unspoiled natural beauty in the Caribbean.
Come and explore the islets, mangroves and caves in Los Haitises National Park, observe the humpback whales in their calving grounds, hike or go by 4 x 4 quad – or horse back to El Limon waterfalls, take a ride on quad along the ‘route du café’ (coffee trail), hike or horse ride through the subtropical mountain forests of Samana Peninsula!
